CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Ron Sanchez, UVA basketball’s interim head mentor, is out as the program’s complete-time chief.
Based on a UVA Athletics information release, Athletics Director Carla Williams declared the choice Wednesday, March 12.
“I am grateful to Coach Sanchez for accepting this purpose in the course of this kind of important time for the program,” Williams said, based on the news release. “Ron plus the staff supplied terrific security, direction and guidance for the younger Adult men over the staff and we've been thankful for his dedication to UVA plus the values that are foundational to Virginia men’s basketball.”
Sanchez was named Virginia’s interim head coach in October when Tony Bennett astonishingly retired three months ahead of the time started off.
Virginia completed this season with a record of fifteen-17.
Sanchez has long been a Section of UVA’s knicks vs warriors basketball software for eleven seasons, 10 being an assistant to Bennett.
